Director, Health Information Management

Director of Coding and Clinical Documentation?opportunity for a teaching hospital system in upstate New York.?
Under the leadership of the Senior Director, Health Information Management, the Director of Facility Coding and Clinical Documentation will lead and direct the coding and clinical documentation improvement to facilitate reimbursement, clinical documentation and data collections across the region?s leading health care provider; with more than 500 physicians and 60 locations.
We are seeking a progressive and motivated leader? to transform these areas through our EPIC implementation while optimizing the coding and CDI functions. ?Functions will include:

  • ? ?? ? Oversight of inpatient, clinical documentation improvement, outpatient, and emergency department functions.

  • ? ?? ? Utilization of the 3M coding systems and SMART compliance tool to enable the coding process. ?

  • ? ? ? ?Monitors DNFB, holds and allocates resources to ensure timely completion of discharged records.

  • ? ? ? ?Oversees coding denials, appeals and compliance reviews.

  • ? ? ? ?Coordinates with Care Management and the BPCI team for successful program implementation.

  • ? ? ? ?Provides auditing program and monitoring of coding accuracy. ?

Associate's Degree with RHIT certification, 3 to 5 years of facility coding experience, and working knowledge of DRG's, APC's, hospital coding, information systems required.
Bachelor's Degree with RHIA certification, 3 years of inpatient coding experience,? experience with regulatory agencies and third party payers and 3 to 5 years' supervisory experience preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
